About the role
This position will suit a strong HR or ER Advisor looking to begin their journey into leadership. Brining your technical industrial and employee relations expertise to this pivotal role that partners with our senior leadership team in the application of Industrial Agreements, Modern Awards and employment law. Supporting daily operations and organisational strategy this role drives the strategy and integrity of our IR/ER frameworks. From leading our team through investigations, drafting agreements and running Better Off Overall Tests to liaising with the Fair Work Commission, Ombudsman and Unions, the role works closely with our Talent and Payroll leads to contribute industrial and employee relations expertise to our HR services team.
About you
You may not have formal leadership experience but are looking to start your journey by leading a small team of ER advisors. You’ll bring a confident, collaborative and solution focused approach. A sense of humour will add to your resilience and ability to lead your team and help them grow. With a wealth of up-to-date IR/ER knowledge to share you’ll support a cohesive service experience to the organisation. Along with sharing the MercyCare values you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a relevant discipline
- Experience in an IR/ER specialist role advising on key issues and practices, as well as managing complex employee relations matters
- Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of employment legislation, industrial awards/agreements and Enterprise Bargaining
- In depth knowledge of employment contract management, workplace investigations, performance management coupled with excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills
- Experience in Team Leadership is ideal but not required if you have the passion to step up, be coached and learn
- Extensive coaching and business partnering experience
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to self-motivate to achieve timely outcomes
- Experience within a large complex organisation ideally in the non-for-profit sector is preferred
- Strong skills across HRIS applications and Microsoft Office suit
- Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
