6 month contract in HR for NT Government. Possible extension for right candidate.
Lead specific projects in areas of employment policy review, human resources and public sector employment and industrial relations to meet sector-wide and agency specific needs. Participate in and support industrial relations projects and advocacy cases in tribunals. Provide consultancy and advisory services on sector wide NTPS employee relations policy matters and private sector industrial relations matters relating to long service leave and public holidays in the Northern Territory.Key duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead major and complex sector wide employee relations and industrial relations projects relating to the Budget Repair Initiatives, including change management; development, implementation and review of ER legislation, policies and procedures.
- Foster productive working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders to successfully deliver innovative and sustainable contemporary NTPS employment frameworks.
- Manage and develop Employee Relations staff and teams in project work on a day-to-day basis.
- Demonstrated strong customer focus with proven experience in leading, motivating, and mentoring a work group to achieve common objectives in a dynamic, changing environment with competing priorities.
- Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with a demonstrated capacity to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with others.
- Well-developed knowledge of contemporary policy, issues, trends and developments relevant to employee relations and/or industrial relations in the Northern Territory and on a broader national scale.
- Relevant qualifications in employment law or a related field.
