Your New Role
This is an opportunity to work with a team of professionals, focused on Commercial Construction under $50 million. This business has created an exceptional name for themselves by delivering a variety of construction projects from industrial and commercial retail to high-end residential builds. In working with this team, you will have the luxury of being a part of a well-processed and compliant team that prioritise safety in the workplace.
- Maintaining oversight of HSE risk registers and facilitating operations risk assessment/SWMS reviews
- Constructively working with and supporting operational leaders on risk management
- Building the operational teams' collective health and safety capacity by providing specialist health and safety advice, support and coaching
- Focusing on understanding and managing risk profile, verifying critical control implementation and in identifying and coordinating risk reduction, improvement and assurance activities
- Facilitation and management of incident response and subsequent analysis and learnings
- Supporting the operations in appropriate preparation, management and response to HSE Regulatory Compliance inspections, audits, statutory reports and prescribed incident notifications and monitoring closeout of actions
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a strong communicator with the ability to engage workers and key stakeholders across all levels. You will be a true safety leader within the organisation and lead from the front in all things HSE related. You will be organised and structured in your methods, whilst having a high level of autonomy within your days. In this role, it is expected that you will be able to tick the box of a majority of the points listed below:
- Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Dedicated and committed approach to Safety First Culture
- Proven extensive experience as an HSE advisor, preferably on commercial or high-rise projects
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
- Experience in using Procore or SignOnSite software is desirable
- Ability and confidence to communicate and manage subcontractors and on-site personnel
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with strong skills in incident investigations and facilitating learnings from incidents
