HSE Advisor
Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will partner with frontline leaders and their teams to build a positive, proactive safety culture across multiple operational environments and achieve the very best safety, health and environmental outcomes for our employees and our customers.
Key Deliverables:
- Assist operational leaders to understand and achieve compliance with legislative, client and internal HSE management system requirements
- Support frontline leaders and site administration staff to collate HSE data and reporting documentation to contribute to accurate, timely Company HSE information
- Assist frontline leaders with the development and review of high-quality safety plans, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and/or Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support leaders to deliver high quality pre-start and toolbox meetings and advise on strategies to engage employees and contractors in site or workshop safety
- Coach operational employees to develop hazard identification and risk assessment focus and capabilities (manage lead safety indicators) including effective use of available tools e.g. Take 5s
- Assist Project or Workshop Managers with routine incident and near miss investigations
- Support operational leaders to manage injured workers and return to work activity
- Implement health and hygiene monitoring and activity in work areas
- Assist with delivery of HSE mandatory training and inductions programs as required
- Contribute to the development of HSE initiatives with knowledge and experience of issues affecting frontline operations and
- Coach frontline leaders to build skills and confidence in managing safety and environmental responsibilities in a continuous improvement environment
Qualifications & Experience:
- Cert IV WHS
- Trade or operations background in heavy industry
- Cert IV Trainer Assessor (preferred)
- Proficient in MS 365 and use of safety software systems
- Advanced verbal communication skills to present internal training and inductions
- Advanced interpersonal skills with proven ability to engage, coach and influence
