About the Position:
In partnership with our oil and gas client, WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor based within South Brisbane. This role is for a 3-week duration and looking for an immediate start.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with the site team and foster the professional image of the organization
• Survey, evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety, health and environmental matters
• Undertake detailed incident investigations in line with project requirements including witness statements, re-enactments, 5-Why/Taproot as appropriate, and compilation of incident reports
• Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g., safety regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
• Maintaining registers
• Assist with supervision where required and conduct inspections.
Skills and Experience:
• Diploma Qualifications in OH&S, HSEQ, Risk Management or related area (Degree desirable – minimum requirement Cert IV OHS)
• Sound knowledge of HSE legislation, industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the group
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a contracting environment ideally on an oil and gas site (coatings and insulation project exposure highly advantageous)
• Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is desirable.
