About the Role
As our new Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor, you'll lead the charge in fostering a strong safety culture within Serco Facilities Management (FM). Your main goal is to ensure that all work done for Serco Community Services (CS) meets contractual obligations. This involves creating and implementing policies and procedures to reduce health and safety risks while maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing and updating Serco Community Services policies and procedures to align with Australian standards and legislation
- Coordinating training programs for Contract Managers, Supervisors, and Workers to uphold compliance
- Overseeing all risk management activities and ensuring HSE systems comply across the contract
- Conducting site-based quality audits and risk assessments to maintain standards
- Implementing an annual internal audit program and serving as the main contact for the outsourced HSE auditor
- Maintaining Serco's QMS and document management system and collaborating with auditors for Serco accreditations
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to bolster compliance and safety standards
- Offering recommendations to the Contract Manager and Contract team for optimal practices and WHS enhancements
- Investigating and resolving incidences as they occur in the workplace
- Ensuring all operations staff are trained in hazard and incident reporting via Assure
About You
- Experience in the Facilities Services/ Cleaning & Maintenance Industry
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of ISO and industry standards
- Knowledge of WHS legislation and regulations
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Construction Induction White Card
- Current Driver’s License – You’ll need to conduct on-site visits
