HSE advisor role at a well-known Australian construction manufacturing company based in the northern suburbs of Perth.
An Australian manufacturer based in Perth that manufactures timber products. Servicing builders across the country, the company strives to achieve the highest possible standards of quality, sustainability, and product resilience to the harsh Australian climate.We currently have a challenging opportunity in the Perth office for a HSE Advisor to step into. With the support of management, you will be the Main HSE interface with the company’s teams proving HSE standards, requirements and best practices exceeding agreed-upon expectations for HSE performance.
Key responsibilities are including but not limited to:
- Build, execute, manage and embody the policies, targets, efforts and strategies of the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System;
- Coordinate factory OH&S and training activities to ensure the competence and wellbeing of staff, the integrity of equipment and the safe use of materials;
- Conduct inspections of the workplace, monitor operations and work tasks on an ongoing basis to ensure safe operations;
- Manage regular audits as specified on the HSE and Performance Assurance Plan;
- Compiling regular HSE Reports for management;
- Maintain compliance with HSE strategies, legislation, other HSE schemes and raise edits/additions and report on compliance;
- Developing the regular HSE reports for management;
- Provide HSE instruction and recommendations to all relevant parties in a support capacity;
- Contribute to and participate in all safety initiatives and programmes;
- To develop an effective and engaging environment in relation to safety and training;
- Identify requirements for training and design training schedules to maximise safety in regards to factory operations.
To be considered you will possess…
- Significant experience in a HSE role;
- Multiple years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the occupational health and safety management and model WHS Act;
- Tertiary or associated qualifications in OH&S, environmental or engineering disciplines;
- A Certificate IV in Safety Practitioner;
- A Certificate IV in Workplace Training (not essential but highly regarded)
