This is a hand's on, autonomous FIFO projects role, with support from our HSEQ Coordinator and HSE Lead to enable the ultimate fulfilment of your career with CAPE. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your role plays a critical part in directing areas of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training.
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure Compliance with government regulations, legal requirements and ethical standards regarding quality assurance.
- Provide advice, leadership, coaching and mentoring to operational staff as required in line with company values.
- Participate in an audit program to ensure process, legislation and practices are complied with.
- Conduct incident investigations including ICAM / Taproot style investigations.
- Create content for site inductions and deliver these inductions to employees, visitors and subcontractors.
- Drive and close out actions and opportunities for improvement through to fruition.
- Communicating and consulting with workers to promote a healthy, safe workplace culture and reporting culture.
- Regularly conducting workplace inspections to identify any opportunities for improvement.
- Timely completion of monthly client and company HSE reporting including stats and overarching project reporting requirements.
- Create Reports from the HSE system for data analysis.
- Participate and create in the development of HSE plans and procedures.
- Assessing compliance with company and client systems and expectations.
- Maintain and manage emergency procedures.
- Assisting with the coordination of the Injury Management process for the people upon your site/s, maintain employee relationships and return to work programs.
- Diploma of WHS or higher highly regarded
- Certificate IV in WHS, Training & Assessment
- Internal Auditor qualifications highly regarded
- Current First Aid accreditation
- ICAM or Taproot Investigation Training
- Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
- Extensive experience in a similar role within construction or mining
- High level of computer literacy (MS Office/MS Project)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Working knowledge of legislative requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain key relationships at all levels in the business.
