The Role Part of the BGC leadership team, our Health, Safety & Environment Manager is a key operational role providing specialist HSE support, guidance and leadership for the safe delivery and operation of business activities. The HSE Manager is also responsible for the implementation, management and continuous improvement of Health & Safety Management Systems, influencing cultural change and the driving of best practise HSE Processes. The role will include: Managing the allocation and maintenance of safety strategy budgets. Maintain HSE management systems, plans and electronic reporting platforms. Supporting the development and implementation of Group strategic initiatives. Conduct HSE incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented for prevention. Developing and implementing of HSE policies, plans, programs, and systems. Utilise regular site visits to conduct worksite inspections, attending of toolboxes and safety meetings. Identification of improvement through incidental audits, reporting, statistics, and trend analysis. Develop, manage and report on strategies and schemes for pollution reduction and prevention. Manage and apply for all work approvals, licences, environmental reviews, ministerial statements etc. Actively manage occupational health, safety, wellbeing, workers compensation and rehabilitation. Facilitate and present HSE training and development programs. Lead and promote a proactive safety culture. About You Formal Qualification in Occupational Safety, Health & Training Minimum 5 years’ experience in a HSE management role Experience within manufacturing, construction and or mining industries in a Health and Safety capacity (highly desirable) Behavioural based safety experience (highly desirable) Ability to connect, build rapport and also maintain resolve in difficult situations About Us BGC Concrete is an industry leading business with multiple plant locations throughout the Perth metro area.
