We are currently seeking a Traffic Management Officer on 6-month contract to investigate traffic and road safety issues and develop recommendations that contribute to the management of traffic and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate Traffic Management and road safety issues and incidents, including involvement in road safety audits. Make recommendations on appropriate solutions consistent with required levels of service and product standards. This includes heavy haulage, signs, roadside advertising, road lining and marking, crossings, intersection treatments, vulnerable road users and roadside facilities.
- Review and provide advice on planning applications and traffic and safety issues, including Traffic Management plans.
- Provide advice to project managers, other Main Roads staff and Local Government on Traffic Management and road safety matters.
- Maintain local traffic and road safety data and inventories.
- Assist with the management of the road planning process, including corridor management, sub-division and development applications and project planning clearances.
- Undertake the collection and management of road traffic data.
- Provide advice and undertake reporting and presentation of asset data through spread sheets, ArcGIS and other presentation software.
- Verify the currency and integrity of asset management data databases.
- Advanced worksite Traffic Management.
- Data entry and road planning process experience.
- Certificate in Civil Engineering desirable.
- Investigation, analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Committed to driving a strong safety culture.
- Valid C Class Driver Licence.
