Heritage Tree Care is a recognised leader in the arboriculture industry. Our business has multiple Council contracts across a range of services including standard tree contracting (tree removal, pruning, stump grinding), plant health care, porous paving, vacuum excavation and tree planting. As we continue to grow, the safety of our people is at the forefront of everything we do.
We are currently seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety Manager for our head office located in Sumner, Brisbane.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As HSE Manager you will provide HSE advice to our team, maintain company certifications, and drive a positive and safe and healthy work culture.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Ensure regulatory, legislative compliance and business compliance with ISO 45001: 2018, and ISO 14001:2015
· Assist with the continued implementation of the Safety Management System in accordance with Company and legislative requirements.
· Work with field teams to carry out HSE risk assessments, maintain risk registers, SWMS and SOPs
· Maintain corrective actions register
· Conduct HSE training, inductions and competencies.
· Investigate HSE incidents to determine the root cause, contributing factors and corrective actions
· Ensure compliance with attendance and recording of Safety and WHS meetings.
· Maintain and report on health, safety and quality statistics
· Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
· Conduct on-site safety and environment audits in accordance with our Audit Plan to guarantee compliance with ISO standards, and actively contribute to all external audit requirements.

ABOUT YOU
Demonstrated working knowledge of the application of WHS Legislation and ISO 45001: 2018 (Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice), ISO 14001:2015 Environment Standard and Risk Management.
· Previous experience in a similar role in the commercial construction is required.
· In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and Codes of Practice
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
· Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
· Driver’s Licence
· White Card – Construction
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, computer skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively across all team levels
