Within Western Australia our Mining & Resources Division delivers engineering and construction projects for our key Tier 1 iron ore producing clients, which enables them to sustain and expand their mining operations throughout the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. As a trusted partner to the WA resource sector, Calibre is integrated in our Client’s Major Projects which enables up to go above and beyond and succeed together with our clients.
The Role:
We are currently seeking a HSE Superintendent for a large iron ore project due to kick off in April. This position will be offered on a 2:1 roster from Perth, working within a great team. This position involves developing HSE strategies and plans, while being the primary point of contact for HSE matters on the project.
- Development and overall implementation of relevant project specific Health & Safety risk registers, procedures and supporting documentation
- Support the project leadership team in planning for safe execution of packages or work
- Implementation of the Field Leadership program including ongoing activity scheduling, coaching and reporting
- Provide Health & Safety expertise relating to contractual documentation including review of contractor Health & Safety documentation
- Liaising with Client and regulatory representatives, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders
Thrive with us! We hope you'll bring:
- A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or appropriate discipline
- Experience in a HSE leadership role in a project environment, ideally working with iron ore
- A strong understanding and working knowledge of HSE legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
- 8-10 years experience in construction and/or operational plant based
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
