Reporting to the General Manager and working with the National HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that employees work within the firm’s safety system which aligns to WHS legislative frameworks. Focusing on identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing solutions to prevent injuries or illness from occurring. You will assist with workplace investigations into accidents/incidents.
This can include interviewing witnesses, reviewing records, and inspecting equipment or other physical evidence related to any incidents. Management of the Permit to Work system and associated assets. Responsibilities are generally across compliance, process & planning, risk control, quality assurance and environment.
Projects can be of a demolition, disposals, decommissioning or dredging nature and experience in these fields are desirable.
Candidates can come from a variety of backgrounds such as civil engineering, Oil & Gas, marine, construction, decommissioning, disposals, mining etc.
Candidates with Oil and Gas experience will be looked upon favourably.
The role is based out of their Perth office with travel to various sites.
Sample accountabilities for this role:
- Promote a “Make it Safe” culture
- Assist with setting up inductions
- Control, provide training on, and maintain the Permit to Work system
- Collect, compile and update statistical safety data
- Maintain safety related registers and equipment workers sign out
- Participate in Risk Assessments, SWMS/JSEA developments
- Report incidents
- Assist with Risk Management – Risk Assessments, SWMS/JSEA development, HIRAC activities
- Provide input ad record minutes at HSEQ meetings
- Be part of the Site Emergency Response Team (SERT)
- Provide First Aid as required and maintain first aid equipment
- Maintain exclusion zone and spill kits
- Administration of safety training and toolboxes
- Conduct daily site safety audits and inspections
- Diploma/Cert IV in WHS or similar
- Minimum 7 to 10 years + experience in a similar role
- Previous experience working in the Oil & Gas, demolition, disposals or dredging sector is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact effectively with senior management, stakeholders and partners
- Superior knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Hold a Senior First Aid Certificate
- Hold a Construction Induction (White Card)
- HRW Licence (High Rise Work) is beneficial
- Be an Australian Citizen and be able to acquire Coal Service Order 43 Medical
