The Human Resources (HR) Officer is responsible for providing HR advice and support to management and staff across the QAS, on a broad range of Human Resource management functions including establishment management, payroll, administration of employee and workforce information, recruitment, appointments, employment conditions and training.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
- Whilst not mandatory, possession of relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource management will be highly regarded.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of contemporary HR legislation, principles and practices and demonstrated experience in providing advisory and consultancy services to management and staff on a wide range of Human Resource management matters.
- Proven experience in the development, review and implementation of a range of HR related policies and procedures that support organisational objectives and the provision of best practice HR management services.
- Demonstrated experience in transactional HR management systems and processes and the ability to assist with employee relations issues, including the provision of advice in relation to sensitive and confidential HR matters.
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and the proven ability to build productive relationships and effectively consult and negotiate with influence across a broad range of clients and stakeholders.
- Well-developed project and time management skills and the proven ability to plan and prioritise tasks to achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines.
