About the role
We have an exciting and newly created opportunity for a People Analytics and Business Performance Officer to join the HR Operations Program, which is part of the People and Culture Branch in Logan City Council on a permanent full-time basis. We are an innovative, dynamic city of the future, one that offers social, environmental and economic health now and for future generations.
The aim is to better understand its workforce, Business Performance, and facilitate accurate, data-based decision making. Work closely with the Branch Management team, PC Coordinators and HR Business Partners to develop, refine and deliver internal performance reporting aligned with operational and strategic requirements.
This position not only comes with great autonomy and resources to achieve the set goals, but it also gives you the opportunity to develop new ways of working that ensure our service offerings to the organisation are integrated, and strategic and provide value for money for our community.
Key Position Responsibilities for Success
- Gather, analyse and report HR data to enable Council to better understand its workforce, Business Performance, and facilitate accurate, data-based decision making.
- Integrate and analyse HR information systems, technology processes and optimised through automation, rearrangement, simplification, or elimination.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and assigned project leads to ensure projects are coordinated, progressed to schedule in line with approved project processes, reported and where possible, optimised.
- Project coordination and optimisation skills, the ability to identify and improve existing processes and highly developed communication skills. You’ll use your extensive expertise to guide people reporting and data-based decisions.
Qualification, knowledge, skills and experience
- Bachelor level degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or Data Analytics (desired)
- Experience in Human Resources, Operations, or Data Analytics
- Strong data analysis and reporting experience, with intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills, ideally with familiarity with Power BI
- Technology One system experience is preferred
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex data effectively
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including a strong ability to negotiate, influence and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders of varying authority, motive and priorities on a wide range of sensitive business issues and Business process change implications.
- Experience in IT, HRIS, or process automation or optimisation roles
- Familiarity in workflow automation tools such as MS Power Automate and/or MS Power Apps
- Demonstrated ability to optimise process efficiency while maintaining quality, managing multiple deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced team environment
- Project and Change Management qualifications and/or experience will also be highly beneficial to this position.
