About Us: Carpentaria Contracting (CC) and Carpentaria Marine Services (CMS) provides first class construction and marine services, as well as equipment, plant and labour hire to clients across Cape York, the Gulf of Carpentaria, Northern Territory, East Coast of Australia and local Communities. Established in 1994, we are a remote area specialist and provide a one stop shop service for projects of all sizes in remote and sometimes hard to get places. We cater for private customers, business clients and government agencies.  We have offices in Weipa and Cairns.

Position Overview: We are seeking an administration person with experience in HR - marine recruitment will be highly regarded.  The role is predominantly HR with other administration duties as required.  The role can be in either our Weipa or Cairns office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure HR needs are met across all sites.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on HSEQ policies and procedures.
• Oversee the company's HR functions related to safety and quality, including training, recruitment, and performance management.
• Lead team development initiatives, onboarding, verification of competencies and training planning.
• Other ad-hoc admin as required

Prerequisites:

• Proven experience in HR within the marine and contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of HR regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications in HSEQ management are preferred.
