YEM are seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor who is available for an immediate start to join the HR team in the West Perth Office and Sites. The position is to aid the team as a casual or fixed term contract with the chance of becoming fulltime with chances to advance your career. *There is a regular requirement to travel and work on site every 3 to 4 weeks for several days at a time.
Reporting to Management, the position has a range of responsibilities including:
- Ensure that all statutory requirements (i.e. Fair Work Act 2009), client specifications and YEM procedures are complied with at all times.
- Providing operational HR advice, coaching and guidance on a range of complex and sensitive HR related matters including; employee relations, legislation, and performance management
- Performance Management.
- Assist in Payroll functions and provide support and cover for payroll function.
- Investigating and actioning pay queries.
- Assist Recruitment team and mobilisation of direct and indirect personnel to site as directed inclusive of interviews, checking qualifications / tickets, reference checking and coordinating pre-employment medicals and issuing employment contracts.
- Ensure that all immigration and visa legislation requirements are being met for all employees.
- Review and update YEM Technology HR Policies and Procedures to ensure they meet legislative/ business requirements.
We are seeking experienced candidates with the following skills, experience and qualities;
Essential:
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources Cert IV minimum or equivalent.
- Previous experience working on remote sites / supporting FIFO operations and availability to travel regularly to site.
- Solid foundation of HR experience (Performance Management, IR knowledge, ROE’s Sound knowledge of HR IR Legislation)
- Minimum 3+ years of HR experience.
- Experience and understanding of payroll practices / employment agreements.
- Self-motivated and autonomous with effective problem-solving skills, high level of initiative.
- Excellent communication skills
- Work in a team environment.
Preferred:
Experience using Payroll Systems and INX, Definitive
- Experience in injury management / workers compensation
