What can you bring to Western Power?

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Statistics, Data Analytics or related discipline or extensive previous industry expertise
  • Advanced data analysis and Reporting experience and knowledge, preferably within the workforce / people data area with strong attention to detail
  • Sound experience in incorporating best practice governance processes for data management and performance reporting in large organisations
  • Strong capability in investigating, manipulating and analysing data from various sources, to identify errors and work with relevant stakeholder to resolve
  • Strong experience with developing actionable management dashboards for HR and the wider business, with prior experience in Qlik preferable
  • Experienced in data interpretation / analytics with a drive to continue to develop their analytic acumen
  • Advanced technical experience in the Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint), dashboarding tools (PowerBI, QLIK).
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships with diverse client base, including HR, Payroll, leadership etc.
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to present reporting and analytic results that is easy to understand

About the role

This position is responsible for providing a highly responsive, customer-centric data analysis and Reporting services, advice, and guidance to effectively enable data driven buisness decision making outcomes, using relevant Business Intelligence and Analytic tools.

This will be achieved through strong collaboration and providing specialist Data and Reporting expertise through advanced analytical, data modelling, trend analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to work closely with stakeholders in developing and delivering improved HR data analysis and Reporting services.

Reporting into the Process, Systems and Governance Team Leader, you will;

  • Act as a specialist on workforce data, reporting and analytics. Responsible for developing, building and delivering reporting, analytics and insights (e.g. through tools such as Qlik) to support HR and leaders to enable better people decision making capabilities and maintain standardized dashboards and other related metrics reports on behalf of HR
  • Be responsible for collecting, structuring and analysing HR Data and metrics from a range of sources (HRIS Systems, employee surveys, employee records, external statistics and benchmarks) and applying this data in order to enable better business decisions through interpreting the data to highlight trends etc, not just reporting on the data
  • Manage and be responsible for providing HR data analytics and Reporting to ensure the accurate implementation of annual salary review and Enterprise Agreement updates through integrating and uploading outcomes into payroll system. This will require understanding enterprise agreements and how they are implemented into payroll systems e.g. salary, allowances, deductions, overtime, and superannuation etc.
  • Preparation of annual finance reports/processes including annual directors reporting, actuarial leave preparation, salary surveys, payroll reports and delivering regular HR reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual workforce reporting requirements
  • Work closely with several stakeholder on their ad hoc data, reporting and analytics needs. Translate business needs into clear requirements and direction for Data and Reporting delivery
  • Have the ability to understand data patterns, interpreting findings and assessing of potential impacts across the organisation
  • Proactively engage with all relevant business stakeholders, including working closely with Payroll, to ensure alignment of all HR reporting
