Job description

With a current workforce of around 65 employees, and up to 30+ volunteers, the new newly created position of Human Resources & WHS Manager will lead the functions of Human Resources Management & Workplace Health and Safety for Noosa & District Landcare Group Inc (NDLG).
The position will guide talent management, compensation and employee benefits, training and development, compliance, remuneration, succession planning, and workplace safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
In partnership with Executive Management Team and Team Leaders, this position will:

  • Lead recruitment, induction and training of new staff.
  • Lead and manage the WHS requirements of NDLG.
  • Support Payroll Officer (Wages, Interpretation of Awards, Employees, General Payroll enquiries).
  • Manage performance process.
  • Manage and assist in identified Training and Development needs.
  • Contribute to, and support the organisations culture statement in accordance with company policy.
  • Support the organisation’s development and management of succession planning.
  • Manage Workplace Relations.
  • Handle disciplinary and termination matters of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Identify training needs for leadership teams and managers.
  • Support the training needs of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programs.
  • Review and update WHS policies, procedures and related matters.
  • Prepare audit and review calendars for HR and WHS compliance needs.
  • Oversee general daily workflow of HR.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate where required.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism, and to model those behaviours.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, WHS, and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of HRIS and Talent Management Systems or ability to rapidly acquire proficiency.
  • Minimum - Degree in Human Resources, Business, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum - 3 years’ experience at a senior level in an applied HR management role.
Hours: Four days a week/8 hour a day = 32 hours per week
  • 3 days to be contact hours in the office.
  • 1 day may be worked from home or in the office, if approved.
Salary: Starting salary $80,000 pa pro rata + 11% superannuation
