With a current workforce of around 65 employees, and up to 30+ volunteers, the new newly created position of Human Resources & WHS Manager will lead the functions of Human Resources Management & Workplace Health and Safety for Noosa & District Landcare Group Inc (NDLG).
The position will guide talent management, compensation and employee benefits, training and development, compliance, remuneration, succession planning, and workplace safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
In partnership with Executive Management Team and Team Leaders, this position will:
- Lead recruitment, induction and training of new staff.
- Lead and manage the WHS requirements of NDLG.
- Support Payroll Officer (Wages, Interpretation of Awards, Employees, General Payroll enquiries).
- Manage performance process.
- Manage and assist in identified Training and Development needs.
- Contribute to, and support the organisations culture statement in accordance with company policy.
- Support the organisation’s development and management of succession planning.
- Manage Workplace Relations.
- Handle disciplinary and termination matters of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Identify training needs for leadership teams and managers.
- Support the training needs of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work Programs.
- Review and update WHS policies, procedures and related matters.
- Prepare audit and review calendars for HR and WHS compliance needs.
- Oversee general daily workflow of HR.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate where required.
- Ability to act with integrity and professionalism, and to model those behaviours.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, WHS, and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good understanding of HRIS and Talent Management Systems or ability to rapidly acquire proficiency.
- Minimum - Degree in Human Resources, Business, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum - 3 years’ experience at a senior level in an applied HR management role.
- 3 days to be contact hours in the office.
- 1 day may be worked from home or in the office, if approved.
