Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
Are you passionate about teaching Humanities? An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a thriving Catholic school in Melton starting from Term 2. This full-time, ongoing position is based at a new campus in Cobblebank, and involves instructing students in grades 7-8. • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Social Studies, under the Victorian Curriculum.
• Providing clear and effective instruction to students, utilising various teaching methods and resources to facilitate learning and understanding of Humanities topics.
• Utilising digital resources, interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online platforms to support instruction and assessment.
• Developing and adapting curriculum materials, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia resources, to meet the needs of diverse learners and enhance student engagement.
• Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
• Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to address disciplinary issues and promote respectful and cooperative behaviour.
• Collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being. Communicating regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching skills, stay abreast of current educational trends and research, and meet licensure or certification requirements.

Skills & Experience:

• Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
• Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
• Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
• Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Humanities
• Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous
• Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
