Due to exciting growth of the business, QinetiQ are looking for a Service Desk Officer to join their Service Desk team based in Canberra. Reporting to the Service Desk Team Lead, you will focus on providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support to QinetiQ staff across all of our computing environments.
As Service Desk Officer you will be accountable for:
Troubleshooting and resolving assigned incidents or service requests whilst ensuring prompt professional service
Undertaking day-to-day administrative duties such as, account management, file and print services management, client set up, configuration and support and maintaining appropriate registers for the management of ICT assets and stock management
Maintaining, updating and creating operational support and end user documentation
Supporting cyber security activities such as the installation, patching and upgrading of QinetiQ’s client and server systems
Assisting in the management and administration of telecommunications, i.e. mobile phones
Working, communicating and cross-skilling with other members of the Service Desk team and where appropriate with the greater ICT group
Actively participating in regular operational meetings as team and business needs dictate
To be successful in the role of Service Desk Officer you will need to bring with you:
Solid experience of working within an IT service desk environment
One or more technology certification such as those associated with Microsoft or ITIL
Technical understanding and working knowledge of technologies such as Active Directory, Windows 10/11, basic network fundamentals, collaboration technologies and system monitoring and reporting technologies
Experience in supporting laptop, workstation, printing, telephony and video conferencing technologies
Strong knowledge and experience of ITSM frameworks, particularly in incident, change and problem processes
Experience in industry best practices and emerging trends in ITSM, applying relevant updates to enhance service desk efficiency
High level problem solving skills including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations
A strong understanding of and commitment to high levels of customer service
High level of personal integrity and professionalism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable effective communication and interaction with other people at appropriate levels of the organisation
Ability to work under pressure and be able to plan, schedule and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
Willingness to take ownership of problems and resolve them in a timely fashion
Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
