Job description

The Clinical Immunogenomics Research Consortium of Australasia (CIRCA) is a Garvan-based initiative that brings together clinicians and scientists from across Australia and New Zealand. CIRCA investigates patients with immune dysfunction of known and unknown cause, though many are likely have a genetic basis of disease. Through genomic, molecular (transcriptomic) and cellular (functional) studies, CIRCA aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients, and understand the mechanisms of disease pathogenesis causing specific immune disorders. The CIRCA Project Management Team operates out of Garvan and leverages Garvan’s IT, governance, legal and administrative infrastructure.

CIRCA has formed a strategic alliance with leading Australian medical research institutions, called the Australian ImmunoGenomics Alliance (AIGA), pooling their expertise to advance shared objectives in the dynamic realm of immunogenomics. This collaborative effort is bolstered by funding recently awarded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Genomic Health Futures Mission, (“An integrated multi-omics approach to expedite diagnosis and management of inborn errors of immunity”) that aims to increase the genetic diagnosis of rare immune disorders to 70% by 2026.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Immunogenomics Program Manager will provide high level support to clinicians, researchers and support staff embedded in AIGA. The successful applicant will provide strategic and project management, research governance and oversight to support the delivery of program outputs and strategy. This will include playing a major role in establishing and managing workflows, processes and managing the AIGA Project Management Team, co-ordinating and leading meetings amongst different stakeholders, being responsible for research governance, ethics and compliance, assisting with collaborative grant applications and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
