In-house Lawyer

Versent is hiring an In-house Lawyer in Sydney!

Our lawyer is 1-3 PQE level (0 PQE maybe considered for exceptional candidates) and is a specialist in commercial law who will provide legal support to all areas of the Versent group. The lawyer will work closely with senior management, sales & delivery to evaluate legal impact of major decision, assess cases, compiling legal opinions and reviewing and composing contracts across all areas of commercial, employment & corporate development work. This involves preparing legal documents, negotiating with customer and suppliers, and being responsible for legal matter and representing these for the Versent group.

Roles and Responsibilities include

Support the legal and commercial function to:

• Review, negotiate and draft a range of commercial contracts such as master services agreements, statements of work, consulting agreements, lease agreements, and service arrangements;
• Understand and advise on all aspects of services engagements including professional services and managed services, outsourced arrangements, and reseller style engagements;
• Partner with the relevant business units, including but not limited to people and culture, marketing, security and privacy;
• Advise key business stakeholders on legal positions and risk positioning across all matters relating to legal;
• Triage legal matters within the legal team and work with sales teams to execute deals;
• Review and assess key legal and commercial terms to ensure they are in line with Versent’s appetite for risk;
• Develop and support training on policies and procedures and maintain training records for all employees;
• Execute on strategic priorities that involve legal i.e. restructure, global expansion; and
• Support governance and risk processes for the board.
