Who We Are:

Established in 2007, Think Water is a specialist franchising group in water solutions, focused on meeting the rapidly changing landscape of water management in Australasia.  Our in-depth knowledge of our industry sector provides us with a distinct point of difference and has helped us to remain strong as a group through periods of economic adversity.  Our organisation consists of 65 operating stores across Australia and New Zealand, with our National Support Office based in Brisbane.  We are now seeking an Independent Director, for an initial two-year term. 

The Role:

We need individuals who have a passion for sustainability, automation and can help develop and maintain Think Water’s strategic focus and direct the changing organisation towards its future.  You would need to be able to make a commitment to Think Water and devote the necessary time, have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. 

Committed time will include:

• Four to five annual meetings (face-to-face meetings and virtual);
• Strategy Meeting (one to two days);
• Contribution to the Group’s set strategy;
• Conference (possibly one or two days);
• Review of minutes (one hour per meeting);
• Assistance with governance (varies, up to two days per month).

The Successful Candidate:

We are looking for an Independent Director who has skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Growth Strategies;
• A legal qualification would be beneficial;
• Information Technology Strategy and Governance;
• Risk and Compliance Oversight;
• Finance and accountancy; 
• Preference will be given to AU East Coast residents.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• An impressive track record of success in the either private or public or both sectors;
• The ability to operate at Board level;
• A good understanding of the role that governance plays in running an organisation for both Australia and New Zealand;
• Ability to think creatively and strategically; and
• The skills to challenge current thinking at Board level.

You will be paid an annual salary, all travel expenses and we will provide a full induction to Think Water’s work. You will be expected to attend at least five Board meetings a year, with four of these meetings face-to-face. Meetings are held across Australian and New Zealand destinations within close range of a Think Water store and at the Think Water Head Office on the south side of Brisbane.
