“Indian @ Hunter” is a Restaurant located in Cessnock 2325 NSW Hunter Valley looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to join an emergent dynamic team. we are a over 100 seat restaurant with Casual dining, Formal dining/Function room and Outdoor Dining/Party space. Due to business expansion, we are seeking experienced Chefs to join our friendly teamThis excellent opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis.The successful candidate must have:

• English skills
• The right to work in Australia
• Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant trade qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience as an Indian Cuisine chef
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills
• Leadership abilities and experience
• Commitment to hygiene, food safety and work health & safety
• Experience running a busy and multi-functional kitchen

Responsibilities include:

• Menu planning and costing of menus
• Monitor and ensure the high quality of Food throughout preparation and presentation
• Prepare and cook meals safely and in a clean environment
• Full stock control and accountability for stock-takes, ordering and stock rotation
• Take charge of menu changes and specials, using your creativity to produce exciting plates
• Minimise wastage and ensure cost control for maximum business profitability
• Work closely with restaurant manager and front of house team
• Maintain clean and proper use of kitchen equipment and advice on repairs or improvements needed for greater efficiency
• Supervise and train kitchen staffs on proper cooking techniques
• Monitoring food handling, preparation, and presentation of dishes
• Ensure compliance with food and hygiene and implement safe work practices
• Handle complaints according to guidelines and in a way that leaves customers satisfied and impressed
