About the Role

 

We are recruiting for multiple roles across our Finance department. As a Specialist Finance Business Partnership your purpose is to Contributes to guiding the strategy of and advising on Finance-related matters for BHP's Functions and Assets.
Your accountability include:

 

  • Applies an understanding of the business context and end-to-end value chain to deliver value maximising opportunities.
  • Conducts timely and accurate reporting to drive insight that enables internal and external customers to make informed decisions. 
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and redesign processes accordingly. 
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy. 
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives. 
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. 
  • Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes. 
  • Defines value drivers and determines the boundaries of an opportunity to determine if it is worth further investment. 
  • Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals. 
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation. 
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste. 
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs
     

 

About You

 

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

 

  • A curious and analytical mind.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and stakeholder influencing skills, including demonstrated ability to use MS PowerPoint / Power BI to efficiently and effectively distil key information, communicate complex ideas and drive change.
  • Previous experience in Budgeting and forecasting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance master data structures/architecture (e.g. cost centres, profit centres, hierarchies, WBS etc.) and data requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect/extract, interpret and review financial information.
  • Demonstrated experience working in either a SAP or similar large ERP system and using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) to profile large datasets.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills to work efficiently and effectively with large volumes of data.
  • Track record of championing process improvements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgeting and forecasting, inventory costing models and /or joint venture accounting is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management is advantageous.
