The service The Indigenous Workforce Coordinator (Identifed) will engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Human Resources and operational Divisions, and community members to ensure activity implemented is based on evidence, adds to current knowledge, drives a talent pipeline and assists with the delivery of culturally safe, value-based, sustainable care across all disciplines of the health service.
This rolle will provide support to Indigenous workforce program candidates and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km2, delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.
Generous remuneration package value up to $127,236 p.a. comprising:
- Salary rates between $3928.50 - $4274.40 p.f. (AO5)
- Annual leave loading + leave

Role requirements
- Mandatory: Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Tertiary or post-graduate qualification/s in adult learning, organisational development, or other relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in Vocational Education Training will be highly regarded.
- The successful candidate will have significant experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health settings or in comparable roles within the Queensland Government.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
