Your Role
Due to increased work, we have an exciting NEW position in our Finance team for an Indirect Taxation Manager for an initial 12 months in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
In this role you will be responsible to ensure that IAG complies with its Indirect Tax obligations through the provision of advice to business operations, meeting tax compliance requirements and engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
You will develop our tax risk management framework as it applies to Indirect Taxation including utilising data analytic techniques to proactively identify and remediate areas of risk as well as influence stakeholders within Risk and Compliance, Internal Audit and the Australian business. You will also provide advice and assistance to IAG operating businesses on integration projects and M&A transactions
In this advisory role, using your skills and knowledge, you will engage effectively with external stakeholders so that IAG maintains its strong reputation with Government Taxation bodies and manage audits and reviews. You will represent IAG on external industry associations where Indirect Tax issues are addressed and discussed.
When IAG contributes the correct amount of tax, governments are able to function and provide services which make our communities stable and safer.
About You
- Taxation experience gained either in accounting or legal specialising in GST and if possible, other Indirect Taxation such as stamp duty, payroll tax and land tax
- Ideally industry experience in GST and Indirect Taxation in general insurance or financial services;
- Undergraduate in commerce or law to perform the role at a fully competent level with Master of Taxation preferred
- Experience with and ability to undertake data analytics (preferred)
- Understanding of the operation of IAG claims and underwriting systems (preferred)
