We are the distributor for the Polynt-Reichhold range of Products. Our loyal customer base originates from the Composites, Coating and Adhesives markets. PRP Corp is located in a new purpose-built laboratory in Laverton North. We are a small and dedicated team who value working together to produce great results for our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Industrial Chemist for our business. The successful candidate will support our production team and new product development whose prime focus is the manufacture of a full range of coloured Gelcoats and resins. You will be critical to the production of high-quality products and will perform the QA processes.
Role Responsibilities:
Reporting to the National Technical Manager, this role is essential in both day-to-day QC operations and long-term improvement of Quality Control.
Key accountabilities of this role include:
- Conducting routine daily QC testing on finished products, especially in relation to colour correction and matching and key raw materials.
- Undertaking product development testing and applications to support development and improved quality.
- Control and issue QC & CofA reports.
- Oversee quality control issues in factory production.
- Report problems in meeting requirements to our Production & Technical Manager.
- Scan and store all batch sheets and retain samples.
- Report problems related to QC to the Technical & Production Manager.
- Ensure all QC is completed in a timely fashion.
- Promptly advise our Technical Manager regarding BoM documentation refinement and correction.
- Project manage new developments and report results.
- Trouble shooting of basic laboratory equipment and design and implementation of new testing with reference to standards.
Workplace Health & Safety
- Have a good knowledge of and follow all Workplace, Health & Safety & Environment policies, practices, and procedures.
- Handle organic solvents and peroxides in a safe and responsible manner.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Chemistry degree qualified preferred but applicants with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a QC role specialising in polymer products are also invited to apply.
- Quality control and laboratory technician role experience, preferably in resins and coatings.
- Colour matching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in Laboratory Practice.

This is a full-time position located at our factory in our Laverton North Headquarters. The role will initially be located in Tullamarine for the first 3 months.
