This is a permanent, full time vacancy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Industrial Relief Instructor will provide relief assistance to manage, organise and control aspects of, and operate in, various services or industrial workshops, including but not limited to, metals, cabinet and construction industries, to maintain routine of the area while an officer is absent and/or on leave, to support prison operations. The position provides on the job instruction, accredited training and supervision to prisoners who work in this area. The position holds a supervisory role over other staff in this area.

  2. A copy of your Qualification – Certificate III in either Metals, Cabinet, Construction, or any other Industrial workshop.
  3. A statement no more than two (2) A4 pages addressing the three (3) following Job-Related Requirements.

ELIGIBILITY

Successful applicants must have a Certificate III in either Metal, Cabinet, Construction, or any other Industrial workshop.

Subsequent Vacancies

Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies in the Department of Justice for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with Part 5 (General Appointment) of the Commissioner's Instructions No. 2: Filling a Public Sector Vacancy and Commissioner’s Instructions No. 39: Interim Arrangements to Fill Public Sector Vacancies.
