Infection Prevention and Control Manager [RN3]
Part Time 4 days per week.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team as our Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Consultant.

About the role
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services you will lead and be responsible for the coordination and implementation of Infection Control principles and standards through the organisation including our Aged Care department. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Provide oversight, consultation and to implement the facility wide Infection Prevention and Control Program, to ensure the facilitation of a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, volunteers and the community.
- Improve, maintain and monitor the quality of Infection Prevention and Control though audit of practice, surveillance and education.
- Provide a resource in infection prevention and control at clinical and organisational level.
- Develop and update Infection Control policies and procedures.
Essential criteria
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working professionally as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience working within Infection Control and prevention roles.
- Undertaken relevant post graduate education or training.
- Excellent understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators especially Standard 3.
- All applicants will be registered with AHPRA and have a valid national and working with children police clearance.
Desirable
- Have a good understanding of how the Aged Care Quality Standards align with this role.
- Accredited Nurse Immuniser.
- Hand Hygiene Australian Gold Standard Hand Hygiene Auditor
- Certificate IV in workplace training
- Previous experience in the Accreditation process
