About the Opportunity

Lead the application of all planning, scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, document management, quality management functions within the Rail Systems organisation. This includes managing the development of the project scope, project control structures, monthly status reporting cycle, coordinating the production and delivery of progress reporting, monitoring of Project Controls, enabling effective risk, document control and quality management and, establishing and maintaining related toolsets and systems.

The role is also responsible for promoting and advising project and program team members on applicable procedures and reporting standards.

  • Manage and lead application of project planning and scheduling principles across the Rail Systems organisation to ensure the agreed project scope and deliverables are captured within the EVM system

  • Manage and lead application of EVM across the Rail Systems organisation ensuring weekly and monthly earned value reporting is adhered to in accordance with the program drumbeat

  • Development and ongoing maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (Level 0 and Level 1), critical path analysis and float path analysis reviews with Control Account Mangers across Rail Systems

  • Setup, configuration and development of the Project Controls System for Rail Systems including core structures (e.g. Work Breakdown Structure, Organisational Breakdown Structure Resource Breakdown Structure), mandated toolsets such as Primavera P6 and associated processes and procedures

  • Maintain key interfaces between the Project Controls System and Finance System ensuring data integrity and consistency is maintained for the project EVM data

  • Maintain and apply configuration control to key project documentation, artefacts and evidence required for the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB)

About You

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Engineering, Rail Operations, or related discipline

  • Strong Primavera P6 skills for scheduling, forecasting and reporting to provide insights into project metrics and performance

  • Experience in working in Project Controls, Project Planning or within an EVM framework in a complex project environment

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, documenting and performing the resolution of complex system issues in multi-stakeholder environments including demonstration of initiative, flexibility and innovative thinking

  • Experience and knowledge in system engineering and requirements traceability
