The role of the ICT Support Officer is to provide technical and systems assistance to the School community and to ensure the day-to-day operation and support of all software, hardware and associated equipment.
BenefitsThe terms and conditions of employment are according to the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2021. This role is classified as a Level 2 Clerical Officer.
This position is established as a full time position. The hours will be from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute break for lunch and a 10 minute break in the morning.
This role works across the full school year. Annual leave is expected to be taken in non-term time although this can be negotiated, subject to operational requirements.
Task & Responsibilities- Providing first and second level support for clients on all systems
- Assist with technology rollouts and support projects where necessary
- Supporting users either face-to-face, by email or by telephone
- Troubleshoot and general maintenance of ICT services
- Support the deployment of hardware and software including student and staff laptops
- Liaise with third party support regarding repairs to hardware, warranty and insurance claims as well as technical support
- Coordinate loan requests and returns when required
- Support the Audio Visual services across the school
- Research new technology, and recommend its implementation
- Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting
- Manage Internet by controlling access to sites, maintaining report logs of internet usage and liaise with students/staff regarding appropriate usage
- Checking hardware and associated equipment delivered to the School and itemizing all components to ensure contract compliance by the vendor
- Logging and monitoring non-functioning hardware and associated equipment for referral to the vendor for repairs
- Issuing and replacing hardware and associated equipment and entering the changes into a database on equipment transfers to ensure all items are tracked and accountable
- Inspecting and replacing faulty laptops, and other hardware and associated equipment and recording the changes and ensuring that spares are readily available
- Checking reported faults, solving minor operating problems and referring significant issues to the ICT Manager for action
- Degree or diploma level qualifications in an IT related field
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain and recommend solutions to non-technical people
- Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to provide effective computer support
- Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation
- Sound communication and administrative skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to determine work priorities
- Ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications
- Good technical abilities across a broad range of technology
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
