About the Intelligence Team
The Intelligence Team is a highly motivated and specialist team that operates to provide information and intelligence support to Building Commission NSW. The Intelligence Team provide information and produce intelligence products that target regulatory risk and criminal activities within the building sector, whilst developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The Information Support Officer is a specialised role that sits within the Intelligence Team and focuses on providing Information Support across Building Commission NSW.

About the Role
The Information Support Officer is responsible for providing Information Support to all teams across Building Commission NSW, contributing to compliance and investigation activities to protect the public, businesses, and communities across NSW. The Information Support Officer undertakes assessment, coordination and dissemination of information requests sent to the Intelligence Team.

Key accountabilities

  • Undertake a range of information requests and tasks that contribute to the day-to-day operations of Building Commission NSW.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and support to Building Commission NSW, including gathering of information to assist in informing tactical, operational and strategic decision making.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships to build a collaborative and successful working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with and provide support to the Intelligence Team.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to the business to ensure that the provision of information is in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience.
  • Manage and prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines in a high workload environment.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently.
  • Information Technology and Information Management literacy, including experience with standard MS Applications, and an aptitude for, working with intelligence tools and systems.
  • Sound written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Criteria:

  • Holder of or ability to hold and maintain national security clearance at a baseline level (PROTECTED).
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Record Check (National Police Certificate).
  • Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies.
