About This Role
Whitehaven Coal are seeking a Health Specialist to support and provide subject matter advice to our operations across the Gunnedah Region. This is a strategic role which will drive improvement and positive changes to the health and wellbeing of our workforce across our Gunnedah Open Cuts operations.
This role is a 12 month fixed term opportunity based in Gunnedah, with a relocation allowance available.
What You’ll Do
- Ongoing contribution and review of key health and hygiene initiatives to achieve risk minimisation
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of health and hygiene management systems
- Provide subject matter advice to fitness for work, mental and physical wellbeing programs
- Assist with the implementation of health and hygiene projects across the WHC Group
- Provide coaching and subject matter advice to frontline leaders
- Contribute to the development of the Injury and Illness Management program
- Assist and improve the Whitehaven Coal health surveillance program
What You’ll Bring
The successful applicant will possess strong leadership and organisational skills and a commitment to improving workplace health and hygiene practices. In addition, the following qualifications and experience are required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Hygiene or related discipline)
- Extensive clinical experience ideally in Work, Health and Safety
- Live local to the Gunnedah Area or willingness to relocate (assistance provided)
- Return to Work Coordinator qualification
- Root cause incident investigation and Risk Management facilitation
