Injury Management Specialist
About the role:
Due to an internal secondment, we are currently seeking an Injury Management Specialist based in Woonona on a fixed term full-time basis until April 2025.
The Injury Management Specialist will be the expert on workplace Injury Management practices to support Case Managers in developing the most effective return to work/life and recovery strategies. You will utilise your sound clinical skills and understanding of medical terminology to decipher reports and deliver robust strategic recommendations to support return to work outcomes.

Other responsibilities will include:
- Active communication with stakeholders and development of Injury Management plans
- Actively review claims with the Case Manager and/or Claims Lead through Collaborative Claims Review’s
- Providing Case Manager’s with recommendations on Medical Practitioners and Injury Management
- Providing claims staff with updated treatment provider guidelines and fees
- Designing, developing, and delivering Injury Management Training Modules for internal development
- Monitoring Service Providers and agreements to ensure they deliver services according to requests
About you:
Your education, experience and skills will include:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- 3+ years' clinical experience as an Allied Health Professional or have been in an equivalent role as an Injury Management Specialist (mandatory)
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation (desirable but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of the principles of Injury Management process and rehabilitation
- Excellent organisational skills
- High attention to detail, strong negotiation skills and out of the box thinking
- Knowledge of premium calculation and cost of claims impact (desirable)
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation, in relation to the Coal industry (desirable)
- Knowledge of when/how to apply SIRA Gazetted Fees Orders and AMA Codes
