Position: Instructional Designer
Location: Perth, WA
Hybrid work 3 days/week in office.
Job Description
- Conduct proactive discussions with the Learning Partner to bring to life learning needs.
- Analyze existing source content and work with subject matter experts/stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of client and learner needs.
- Develop creative and effective designs that meet client needs and drives true skill/behaviour change.
- Create and deliver design documents including scope definitions to the development team and act as the “product owner” for the solution in development.
- Responsible for designing blended solutions that require a mix of existing, off-the-shelf and custom content.
- Use a seamless integrated methodology and process from the requestor’s perspective to meet business needs.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials including written content, multimedia elements, assessments, and simulations.
- Help educate and train content resources on design methodology and process.
- Work with project management to determine and refine project plans and development processes.
- Collaborate and participate in internal initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Focus on robust learning and high-impact learner experience at optimized costs while leveraging past experiences and current industry trends.
- Provide deep learning expertise to design learning that is innovative, engaging, and achieves the required learning objectives.
- Work within the organisation’s Learning Management Framework and Governance.
- Apply the organisation’s branding guidelines in creating learning material.
- Understand the organisation’s learning strategy and align learning deliverables to reinforce strategic outcomes.
- Understand operational, business, HSE and other requirements to create learning that is aligned with relevant priorities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and budget.
- Provide necessary tracking data in the CXP as well as required reporting.
Requirements:
- A Certificate IV TAE or higher qualification is essential.
- Diploma of Training Design and Development or similar (preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline and RISE).
- Experience in L&D program development and competency framework development (preferred)
- Strong people, learning and development focus with the ability to support leaders, teams and individuals in achieving their capability and skills development goals.
- Capacity to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials including written content, multimedia elements, assessments, and simulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and other team members.
