The purpose of this role is to contribute to Councils achievement of business objectives and the desired culture by driving the effective strategic management of business enterprise risks to minimize risk exposure for Council, employees, and the community by providing high quality strategic, technical advice and support to Council in Insurance and Risk Management.This is a full-time role based at our Civic Centre however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.This is a Band 7 classified role; remuneration will be $104,630 - $117,345 depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the superannuation guarantee.What you will need to thriveUse this section to describe the key requirements, skills, and experience. - A sound level of understanding of the insurance industry, claims administration and the statutory responsibilities of Council in regard to insurance.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, undertake consultation and collaborate across the organisation and with stakeholders on projects.
- An understanding of the Australian Standards and principles of risk management.
- Ability to draft routine correspondence and reports and possess well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and work with multiple systems concurrently.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all work produced.
- Well-developed ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts, recommend optimum solutions and provide specialist risk management and insurance advice
