We are a well established small to medium General Insurance Broker located in Armidale, New South Wales. We have been in business for over 30 years and continue to grow steadily. We are part of the Steadfast Group, so have access to a large knowledge base while still remaining independent.
About the role
We have an opening for a full or part time Broker to join our team of 8 staff. You should have the capability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You should be results driven, disciplined and proactive in your approach to all tasks.
Working within an experienced and supportive team, this office based role will support and be an integral part of our broking team. The successful candidate will contribute to business growth by servicing and retaining existing commercial and transport clients, as well as the development of new business opportunities.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, knowledge and experience, but will be based on the Banking, Finance and Insurance Award 2020 (Modern Award).
Skills and requirements
The candidate needs to have the aptitude to handle a high volume workload, the ability to multi-task, a friendly and responsive disposition, and the ability to think outside the square.
Essentials
- Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and the Internet
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft systems (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook essential)
- Business experience
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Be a confident communicator
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to priorities workload
- Willingness to undertake further study in the Insurance Industry
The following will be highly regarded.
- Experience in general insurance and/or claims management
- Previous experience using Insurance Broking systems (we use Insight)
- Tier 1 or 2 in General Insurance Broking (Must be willing to obtain same
