Broker Support - Specialties - Risk & Insurance Due Diligence

Due to internal growth, we are seeking an Insurance broker Support to join our Risk & Insurance Due Diligence team within Aon Risk Solutions.

The Risk & Insurance Due Diligence team is part of the global Aon Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Solutions practice that specialises in the provision of Insurance and Risk Advisory Services to the Merger and Acquisition (M&A) community including Private Equity, Fund Managers, Investment Banks, Financiers, Large Private and ASX listed businesses and Developers involved in major development projects.

What the day will look like

To be successful in this role you will ideally have a minimum of two years' experience in the insurance industry preferably with an international broker.

The purpose of this role is to support the team in delivering M&A Projects from an insurance perspective.

You will be required to work in a collaborative team environment to undertake all support activities in the delivery of risk and Insurance Projects - activities will include:

  • Managing the data room process including access, retrieval and review of available information and managing the Q&A process
  • Developing draft reports and all supporting information
  • Developing underwriting information in the form of a Target Overview
  • Collating and summarising insurance information including program summaries, claims reports and premium calculations
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders including industry and product experts and placement specialists to providing input into program reviews
  • Collating and undertaking premium calculations
  • Work directly with clients, external advisors and internal stakeholders to collate information in a timely manner
  • Attend internal and external client meetings associated with the delivery of M&A projects
  • Support client engagements with Project Managers including responding to RFP proposals, briefings, interim and final reports
  • Develop internal relationships to support the delivery of engagements
  • Undertake research and analysis as inputs into proposals and/or marketing activities
  • Undertake administrative responsibilities associated with the insurance Due Diligence process on projects and the management of the team as requested. In an accurate, efficient and time responsive manner
  • Provide day-to-day support to the current Project Managers within the Due Diligence Team

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Undergraduate degree (highly regarded)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing support for an international insurance broker or equivalent
  • Financial proficiency in understanding how to read or locate information in an annual report and/or financial model
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to work independently and/or in working groups to complete projects
  • Experience in collaborating with team members
  • Analytical skills - strong attention to detail while also being able to draw connections to provide overall conclusions
  • Communication (written and verbal) - ability to communicate well and at the appropriate level with a wide range of individuals
  • Ability to perform under stress / tight time frames
  • Ability to develop relationships / build confidence of others (both internally and externally) based upon work performed
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Results oriented - focus on conversion opportunities (including full and partial)
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Experience supporting senior team members
  • Having a can-do attitude
  • Being curious, highly motivated and engaged
