Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.Position PurposeThis integrated role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in emergency planning, Business Continuity management, and occupational health and safety. If you possess the necessary skills and qualifications and are passionate about ensuring the safety and resilience of our community, we encourage you to apply.As the Integrated Safety, Emergency, and Business Continuity Coordinator at Gippsland and East Gippsland Aboriginal Cooperative, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the Community and ensuring Organisational resilience in the face of unforeseen disruptions.Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive contingency plans, procedures, and policies based on thorough risk assessments. You will coordinate emergency planning, response and recovery efforts, work within the allocated budgets and resources, identify, and apply for grants to enhance community projects, and serve as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders.Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in administering quality accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated strong background in emergency planning, Business Continuity management and occupational health and safety.
- Demonstrated experience working with quality improvement and compliance monitoring systems.
- Critically analyses information, communicate key points clearly and succinctly both orally and in writing.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, possessing an innovative outlook to ensure a culture of continual improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work with staff across all levels using effective communication to gain staff engagement.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk and opportunity management process.
- Valid Driver’s License ESSENTIAL
- Strong background in emergency planning, Business Continuity management, and occupational health and safety. ESSENTIAL
- A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
- A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL
