What you do:
This role will best suit an engineer experienced in the challenges of operating APIs, including the creation of well-thought-out abstractions, the evolution of API contracts over time, and engineering for resiliency. Understanding the value of decoupling business domains with event-driven architecture, as well as reducing the total cost of operation by leveraging modern serverless services, will be highly regarded. In addition to cloud infrastructure challenges (networking, security, observability & distributed systems), there will be a strong need for collaboration between our internal product-aligned engineering teams and the integration squad.
As part of a wider digital transformation, you'll have the opportunity to help us define the right combination of both technology (tooling, frameworks, infrastructure) and development practices that accelerate our delivery of business value.
What you need:
- Solid experience as an Integration or API Engineer
- Commercial experience with Node.JS and/or Java
- Designing, building, and running solutions in AWS cloud with focus on scalability and reliability with serverless and event-driven architecture
- Experience in creating observability of distributed systems, including logging, tracing, and capture/use of relevant metric
Desirable;
- Familiarity with API Gateway solutions
- Experience building integrations with telephony systems
- Experience with building integration with Salesforce
- Experience working within a highly regulated industry
- Experience in leading change within technology function in an organisation with both B2C and B2B requirements
