The CT Online Team has responsibility for the enhanced collection and analysis of online information in the QPS to provide high-quality intelligence products and briefings in support of organisational priorities. This includes our key stakeholders in the areas of security and counter-terrorism.
Some of the skills you will require include, collecting and analysing on-line information from multiple sources, applying analytical techniques, working with stakeholders, and writing intelligence products.

The dynamic nature of the online environment requires analysts who can adapt to technological developments and are proactive in their own learning and development.
Working within this team allows staff to develop their skills and capability as an analyst, as both an individual and in team setting, with a supportive and positive culture where there are ongoing training and development opportunities.
The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Provide direction and assist in driving the QPS Strategic Plan through the provision of intelligence services to Commands and Regions in the assessment of problem places, cases and issues.
• Provide high level analytical advice and support to QPS officers in relation to targeting strategies.
• Plan and prepare complex intelligence assessments in relation to crime and other community safety matters utilising accepted intelligence processes.
• Establish and maintain effective networks within the QPS and with external partners and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement effective work practices with a focus on continuous improvement.
• May be required to provide supervision and direction to other staff members.

• A knowledge of online collection techniques will be highly regarded.
• The successful applicant will be required to perform duty within any Group/Unit in the surrounding area where State Intelligence Group/Intelligence Directorate conducts business.
• The successful applicant may be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.
• Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1 (see additional information).
• The successful applicant/s must undertake intelligence training delivered by the Queensland Police Service in line with current policy.
• Shift work may be a requirement of the role.
