What You Will Be Doing
Our Intensive Care Unit is a level 3 adult, mixed medical, surgical, renal and respiratory ICU. With 15 beds, our ICU has around 1300 presentations per year, providing you with rich learning opportunities. You will develop your knowledge, skills and confidence in caring for a range of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care environment.
Students are employed on a 64-hour fortnight over a 12-month period. We offer a friendly and supportive clinical learning environment with experienced educators who will offer you clinical support, education and guidance. Designated study days will further assist you in consolidating the theoretical and practical elements of the course.
Post Graduate students are valued and integral members of the Peninsula Health multidisciplinary team. Throughout the program students deliver specialist nursing care at the level of a developing learner commensurate with the level of knowledge acquired through practical experience and academic knowledge. Post Graduate students work closely with clinical educators to meet requirements of the program
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
• Current restriction free AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Completed a minimum of 12 months post registration acute nursing experience
• Completed or enrolment in an ICU Transition to Practice (TSP) Program.
