International Public and Media Relations Manager

About the role:
The role of the International Public and Media Relations Manager will be vital in elevating the brand BSI by raising the reach, recognition, and engagement by clients, prospects targets, and stakeholders of BSI in international, national, trade, and social media.
Communications programmes in their remit will include:
Press office (opportunity spotting and reactive media engagement)
Thought leadership, corporate positioning, and executive profiling.
Proactive PR and Media campaign development
Profile-raising in traditional and new media
Issues and crisis management
This person will proactively lead, plan, develop, manage, and activate AMAS media activity across the full scope of the business, working with our PR agency and BSI teams globally.
Responsibilities:
Present and maintain a positive public image of the BSI brand as exemplars and advocates of best practice across multiple sectors and areas of the business.
Secure positive coverage for the BSI brand, including positioning its products and services in international, national, trade, and online media.
Build the BSI brand's profile in the US / AMAS media by taking a strategic, targeted approach.
Write and copyedit articles, press releases, and other collateral to a high standard.
Support the PR team/agency with any reputational, issues or crisis management requirements.
Manage and respond to incoming press office enquiries, in collaboration with the wider business.
Work closely with a PR agency to build media contacts ensuring a drumbeat of coverage around thought leadership and other appropriate newsworthy content.
Develop, activate, manage, and measure the impact of PR and Media campaigns to support commercial strategies and strategic themes aligned with the overall brand narrative.
Work collaboratively with the Brand team, divisions, functions, and sector teams.
Help develop and maintain the group media policy and master corporate Q&A document supporting messaging consistency on key and/or sensitive topics for the organisation.
Build close working relationships with key partners within and outside the businesses and, where necessary, interact with and effectively communicate campaign goals with senior executives.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable experience as a PR professional with strong Media Relations skills in the US/AMAS market
Proven experience in developing and executing successful campaigns.
Experience communicating complex issues to different audiences.
Excellent written and verbal skills
Experience of using social media
Able to make complex issues easy to understand and interesting.
Ability to establish and maintain networks of contacts both internally and externally.
Strong team skills
Experience in managing reputational issues.
