International Supply Chain Manager

This large FMCG / Retail client are in need of an experienced International Supply Chain Manager to help bring in product from overseas!

The International Supply Chain Managers main role is the execution of both strategic and operational tasks required to move product from international vendors to the DCs on time and in full.

The role will manage the International Freight Team and be responsible for Costing & Planning International Sea Freight Shipments across several Supply Chain models

In this position, you will work with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and internal stakeholders to provide the company with a sustainable competitive advantage in terms of product cost and availability. You will leverage off your analytical capabilities to continuously look at optimising International Supply Chain processes.   

This role will include:

• Day to day management of all international shipments focusing on imports
• Time line review of all shipping processes and managing the Freight Forwarders
• Review that Supply Chain data is correctly captured in the ERP system
• Point of contact for review and escalation of any break down in data integration of international purchase orders and shipments with the freight providers
• Oversee the resolution of clearance issues and shipping delays
• Oversee freight invoices, costings, validation and processing 
• Track and manage freight providers KPI performance
• Create and manage reporting functions as required by the business (long range volume forecasts, weekly inbound trends, etc).
• Perform analysis to identify and recommend business opportunities

Requirements to be successful:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing International Freight and working with Freight Forwarders
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office suite
• Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully interact with stakeholders to problem solve and achieve goals and influence
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy essential
• A retail knowledge / background would be advantageous, but not essential
