Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to manage and oversee inventory operations at our Mitchell store. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory counts, maintaining inventory records, purchasing, goods receipt and goods out, and implementing inventory control procedures to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accurate inventory counts and minimize waste
- All purchasing activities for the store, including with external suppliers and internal transfers
- Chase outstanding purchase orders with suppliers and ensure appropriate stock availability
- Manage goods returns with suppliers within commercial terms and timeframes
- Accurate and timely picking and despatching of customer orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all inventory transactions are properly recorded
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvement
- Any other duties as directed by senior managers or other team members
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control or related field. Supermarket experience would be an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
- Knowledge of electrical products and the ability to interpret technical information will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Current Forklift Licence is essential
- Current Drivers Licence is essential
