An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Client’s Supply Chain Team as an Inventory Controller based in Melbourne.
Reporting to the 3PL Manager, you will be responsible for daily inventory management, transactions and control and providing analysis and recommendations for inventory optimisation. Liaising / coordinating with 3PLs you will undertake stock transfers, stock returns, SOP maintenance/creation and analysis of warehousing / inventory and logistics data.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and manage key inventory data to assist with Warehouse slotting and inventory procurement optimisation and to coordinate stock movements in/out of 3PL sites
- Contribute to operations planning processes including supply / demand forecasting, inventory management and on time delivery
- Ensure system inventory and batch requirements align with physical inventory levels
- Manage Warehouse activities to ensure alignment of inventories via cycle counts and stock take reviews, advising reviews and tolerances to warehouse as required
- Report on Aged inventory and work with stakeholders to put actions in place to reduce aged inventory levels
- Review and investigate damage claims to ensure stock is disposed of, claimed, and or/credited
- Manage damaged, lost, and expired stock raising adjustments to stocks or shelf-life extensions as required
- Develop, manage, and maintain all monthly inventory, such as Slow Moving and Obsolete stock reporting and 3PL/logistics reports process documentation
- Assist with site reviews (e.g., new sites) and chain or responsibility reviews as directed
To be considered:
- Minimum 2 years experience within Inventory Control
- Tertiary qualified in Inventory; Warehouse & Logistics / Supply Chain based studies (not essential)
- Detailed understanding of stock control principals
- Ability to manage complexity and change in a dynamic environment
- High analytical focus and ability to extract, interpret and report on relevant inventory data sets
- Excellent IT Skills and practical knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
