Job description: About the role Reporting to the Inventory Lead, the Inventory Controller will play an essential part in contributing to the success of the Whyalla Operations by coordinating and controlling the Materials Management function of all Spares & Repairable materials, managing inventory holdings, engage with Plant users on matters pertaining to material usage, making recommendations on inventory controls and assisting plant with the management of repairable items.Other responsibilities include: Monitor consumption and forecast consumption and adjust replenishment plan as required Regular review and approval of all items flagged as critical to the Business Units, ensuring that in the event of a plant failure/stoppage that materials are readily available resulting in minimal downtime Undertake regular assessments and monitoring of inventory demand patterns Promote a safe workplace for themselves and others by ensuing all new and exiting materials catalogues have supporting documentation that includes SDS, technical data sheets and drawings Drive the best competitive advantage for MPS in maintaining agreed stock levels Manage stock materials and operational spares in accordance with MS inventory management policies and procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives as well as the development of MRP training materials About your experience You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
