An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced supply chain professional to join an FMCG business in Western Sydney as their Inventory Lead on a permanent basis.
Your new role
Reporting to the Inventory Manager, as Inventory Lead you will play a crucial role in managing inventory processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, and optimising supply chain efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, logistics, and production to maintain seamless operations. Specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Inventory Management: monitor stock levels, track inventory movements, and maintain accurate records
- Demand Forecasting: collaborate with demand planning teams to forecast product requirements and ensure optimal stock availability
- Stock Reconciliation: conduct regular stock counts, investigate, and reconcile discrepancies
- Order Fulfilment: coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to support production.
- Risk Mitigation: identify potential stock shortages or excesses, proactively address issues, and minimise supply chain risks
- Process Improvement: continuously evaluate and enhance inventory control processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of 3-4 staff across multiple DCs.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrated knowledge across inventory management, supply chain planning, and warehouse operations.
- A track-record of successfully leading a small team, with demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
- Experience within the FMCG/Manufacturing industry will be highly regarded.
- Strong systems proficiency, with high-level exposure to ERP systems and MS Excel, coupled with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
